Jessie

Hello everybody! My name is Jessie, and I am a tutor in Mathematics, Statistics, History, Biology (Levels 2-3), Chemistry (Level 2), Science (Level 1). Right now, I am a first-year student at the University of Canterbury, studying a Bachelor of Laws. I also studied at the University of Auckland, completing a Bachelor of Health Science in my first year and a Bachelor of Pharmacy in my second year.

I studied at Burnside High School and gained Excellence endorsements for NCEA Levels 1 and 2. In Year 13, I received a Level 3 Merit endorsement. I found it difficult to focus in the final year of high school, and I struggled to study alone. However, since going to University I have developed my own strategies for studying effectively. Through tutoring, I hope to support students earlier in their academic journey, so they do not have to go through what I did.

I strongly believe it is important to have a balanced study schedule, with breaks and activities that relieve stress. So, for me, I tend to journal with stickers, as I love cute drawings and petting my cat, which really makes me happy and gets me reenergised to study hard. I hope the students have their own stress reliever, too!

As a tutor, I am committed to helping each student reach their full potential and build greater confidence to do an amazing job in their studies.
