Jennifer

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am a first year Engineering student at the University of Canterbury. I tutor Physics (up to Level 2), Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Calculus, English (primary up to Level 1), Classical Studies and Economics (up to Level 2).

I graduated from Burnside High School in 2022 with Excellence level NCEA endorsements, including endorsements in the subjects I tutor. I have also completed AS and IGCSE Level Mathematics up to an A* grade. On top of receiving these marks in school I have competed in the NZ Physics and Mathematics Competition and Biology Olympiad, becoming a finalist and obtaining a bronze award respectively. This means I am well-versed in several different curriculums. These achievements have awarded me the UC Hiranga Scholarship and The Riccarton Rotary Youth Trust Scholarship.

I have been tutoring students for around three years now, although this is my first year with AHeadStart and have encountered all different types of students studying towards different goals. I believe in adapting my teaching techniques to suit the individual learning preferences of each student. My goal is to establish a welcoming and interactive atmosphere for learning, where students are encouraged to inquire, delve into concepts, and learn from their missteps.
