Hannah

Hello! I’m Hannah, and I’m tutoring Biology, Chemistry and English to NCEA Level 3, as well as General Science. I’m in my second year of a Bachelor of Science at the University of Canterbury, majoring in Biochemistry and Psychology. I also took two English and one Statistics electives last year as I thoroughly enjoy a variety of subjects!

I graduated from Mt Albert Grammar School in Auckland, achieving Levels 1-3 with Excellence Endorsement. I passed all my subjects with Excellence Endorsement in Levels 1 and 2, and most in Level 3, gaining more than 230 excellence credits overall with a thorough understanding in a range of subjects at NCEA level. At my school, I came 1st in Biology in Year 13 and received the MJ O’Sullivan Senior Biology Prize. I gained the Biology Scholarship, as well as the UC Hiranga Scholarship for top-achievers and the UC Go Waitaha Scholarship.

I enjoy Kung Fu, playing football, running, reading, and rock climbing with my friends, and have learnt throughout high school how to balance studying with extracurricular activities. Through completing the Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, I found a passion for the environment, volunteering for my community, tramping and camping with friends, and went on both the Spirit of Adventure leadership voyage and Department of Conservation four-night volunteering trip on Motuora Island to complete these awards.

I’m passionate about learning, and I would love to help others gain understanding in their subjects and develop their interest in what they learn as well.

I’m looking forward to meeting you!
