Caitlin

Kia Ora. My name is Caitlin and I offer tutoring in NCEA Drama, English, History, Classics and Social Studies for AHeadStart. I loved these subjects in particular when I was in High School. So much so that I am continuing to learn the majority of these subjects at the University of Canterbury. 

I am currently in my final year studying my Bachelor of Arts where I major in English and minor in History and Psychology. As my love for these subjects have only grown the more I learn, next year I will be applying to complete a Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Secondary). This is so I can ultimately become a secondary school teacher in English and History.

As an NCEA student, I completed my studies at Freyberg High School in Palmerston North. I started my first year of University at Massey where I was able to minor in theatre, before moving down to Ōtautahi in 2020. I achieved NCEA Level One with an excellence endorsement, and NCEA Level Two and Three with a merit endorsement. I also achieved course endorsements for my tutoring subjects each year. 

While a student at Freyberg High School, I was voted Head Girl for 2018. My leadership journey has continued through to now as I am the President of the Writers Society at the University of Canterbury. I was also awarded the Central Energy Trust Supreme Award in 2019 which came with a $15,000 scholarship towards my future studies. These experiences further ignited my passion for learning and teaching.

In the spare time I do have, I love to spend it with my fiancé or with my firends. I also read many novels for fun whenever I can, usually curled up on the couch with my lovely cats.
