Hello, hello! I’m Olivia and I tutor English, Classics, History, Social Studies, and Media Studies, as well as primary school students in literacy and numeracy. I am very excited to share my passion for these subjects!
While at Papanui High School, I gained excellence endorsements at all three levels of NCEA. Upon graduating, I was awarded the Miss M. L. Roper’s Prize for History, the Diana McMurtrie Cup for Excellence in History, and the BDL HP Toshiba Scholarship for Excellence in Humanities. I have spent the past three years as a full-time student at the University of Canterbury, gaining the Howard McNaughton Prize in Drama and completing a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Classical Studies and a minor in English.
Outside of school, I read (extensively), I listen to music (constantly), I play the ukulele (only passably, but with undeniable enthusiasm!), and I play board games with my friends and family (without getting competitive at all...).
Before pursuing a career in education as a secondary school teacher in 2025, I am spending 2024 taking every available opportunity for self-improvement and new experiences. This includes volunteer work, special interest classes, and, of course, tutoring students in the subjects I find most inspiring and exciting.
I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your learning!
